SURFACE PREPARATION:

Surface Preparation is the responsibility of the Builder, Renovator or Main Contractor and the Applicator. To achieve the indicated performance, it must be carried out according to company's recommendations. The surface must be free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, mould release agents, bond-breakers and any other contaminants that may interfere with adhesion. Fresh cementitious substrates should be left for 14 days before coating. There must be less than 15% moisture in the surface at the time of coating to ensure optimum coating performance.

APPLICATION:

It is recommended that application be carried out by a skilled applicator, who is totally conversant with products and systems. After thorough mixing, the material is applied as a thin coat (priming coat) on the surface and the second coat is applied to achieve the required pattern (by trowel / spray gun). Stone finish is not suitable for walk-on surfaces.

TOP COATING:

• 100% Pure Acrylic Emulsion Paint is specifically recommended as an overcoat in high pollution or heavy traffic areas (only in case of non – natural coatings).
• For natural inbuilt colour coatings, no paint is required.
• For deep tones and accent colours, company recommends the application of Semi Acrylic Emulsion paint Low-Sheen/Satin/Gloss.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Method of Application & Surface Preparation:

1. SURFACE PREPARATION :
   • Clean the surface with wire brush or scrubber to remove hidden dirt, loose particles, laitance & dust. De¬grease the surface by using suitable solvents
   • Repair the spalled concrete portion by saw, cutting the extreme edges of the repair location to a depth of at least 10 mm to avoid feather edging & to provide strong bond
   • Clean the concrete surface to remove any contamination where breaking is not possible. Roughen the surface by light scrabbling or grit blasting
   • Use slow speed mechanical mixer, add powder component slowly to the polymer in a clean container
   • Expose corroded rebar in the repairing area fully. Remove all loose scales & corrosion deposits and immedi¬ately clean the surface


2. PRIMING :
   • For priming of steel surface, apply rust remover to all exposed reinforcement area and wash it with water jet before applying Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer on the rebars
   • For priming of concrete substrate, the surface should be thoroughly saturated with potable water. Remove any excess of water prior to application. Slurry of primer coat is prepared by mixing of one part of 2K-Flexicrete, one part of water and 3 parts of fresh cement. Slowly mix cement with binder to obtain a smooth consistency. Continue mixing the slurry during application to prevent settlement

   • A forced action mixer is essential (PAN Mixer) & recommended to ensure that 2K-Flexicrete mor¬tar is thoroughly mixed or Use a suitable sized drum with heavy-duty electrical drill machine fitted with spiral paddle mixer at slow speed of 400-500 rpm
   • Hand mixing is permissible only for 25 kg or less quantity
   • Charge the mixer with required quantity of clean & dry sand, cement & mix for 1-2 minutes, and then add 2K-Flexicrete as per the dosages recommended. Mix for 2-3 minutes to avoid air entrapment. Keep on slowly adding water until the required consistency is achieved. Do not add extra water.

Gypsum Plaster is gypsum based plaster suitable for application on most internal backgrounds including brick, block and concrete. It consists of gypsum hemihydrates, formulated with special additives to enhance working and setting characteristics. It contains light weight exfoliated aggregates to improve plaster’s workability, coverage, application and post usage behavior. It dries to provide a white, smooth matt finish ready for painting.

Application Methodology: Surface Preparation

• The background to be plastered should be thoroughly brushed with broom to be free of all loose particles and dust. Wash and clean traces of mould oil.
• It is recommended to use a high performance bonding agent on RCC concrete surfaces to eliminate hacking.
• In case of hacking, provide 25 hacks, 10-15 mm deep per sq ft
• It is recommended to wet the surface before application so as to achieve more spread and higher coverage.
• Mix One Coat Gypsum Plaster with water (not vice versa), use a mixing rod for thorough mixing and avoid lumps and unmixed residues.
• Water to plaster ratio (1 part of water: 2 parts of plaster) should be maintained as to have good cohesive workable mix.
  
• Mix One Coat Gypsum Plaster as much as required depending upon the immediate scope of work, partially used material to be kept well secured in dry place.
• Once the mix has begun to set, additional water should not be added, as performance properties of One Coat Gypsum Plaster will get altered, thus affecting workability, cohesiveness, adhesion and strength.
• Avoid using a wet brush on the finished surface, as that would leave permanent brush marks and thus spoil the surface.
• A single coat should not exceed 13 mm in thickness, if at all thickness required is more than 13 mm, plaster is to be applied in multiple coats.
• After complete drying (which takes usually 72 hours depending upon the thickness and weather conditions), the plain smooth leveled surface is ready for painting.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Method of Application & Surface Preparation:

• Surface under treatment should be sound, clean and free from dirt, oil and other loose material
• Masonry surfaces should be fully cured (minimum 28 days) prior to application
• All surface cracks, undulations and voids must be repaired appropriately before application
• Use slow speed mechanical mixer, add powder component slowly to the polymer in a clean container
• Stir till smooth and homogeneous slurry, without any lumps, is achieved
• Allow the mixed slurry to stand for 10-15 minutes for releasing trapped air during mixing
• Do not dilute with water
• Apply 2K- FLEXI COAT slurry by brush, roller or trowel
• Allow the 1ST coat to dry completely for 6-8 hrs before applying 2nd coat

Spreading Capacity:

• Depends on application method, road profile and film thickness. Generally about 4 - 8kg/m2 at 1.5 – 3 mm

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Heat the material to 180 - 200°C in the pre-heater with adequate agitation till it becomes a homogenized liquid
• Ensure that the road surface is clean and free from dust & moisture
• Heavy deposits of paint require removal
• For aged asphalt roads and concrete roads, a primer coat, is recommended for proper bonding of the material with the road surface.
• Ensure that the primer is thoroughly dry and void of solvent prior to application of the thermoplastic material
• Ensure temperature of 180 – 200°C and adequate agitation during application
• Do not hold thermoplastic above 180°C for more than six hours
• Do not heat the material above 220°C at any point in time
• Change in colour indicates that the material has been scorched owing to overheating and needs to be discarded
• Drop-on glass beads must be immediately deposited after thermoplastic application

• Storage: A minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in a cool, dry and covered place

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Minimize dusting of the material during use
• Use of personal protective equipment like facemask, goggle, heat resistant gloves and protective clothing while handling the material is recommended
• Do not inhale product or fumes; do not ingest
• Avoid eye contact; if contacted, wash copiously with water
• Contact of molten product with skin could lead to thermal burns; flush with cold water; do not remove material as it could lead to severe tissue damage
